This script allows you to import your M3U playlists (generated by your favorite media player/organizer) into Grooveshark (the popular cloud-based music player). New playlists added with this website will appear in your playlist page, but not your side-bar. Click here for an image explaining where your playlist will appear.

M3U to Grooveshark Playlist Importer

filename should be the name of the playlist
What is 6 divided by 3?
this is to verify you are human

Tips for Usage:

  • No '-' symbols in artists names. This is not compatible with the M3U format.
  • There is a cap of 50 song searches per running of this script. However, each time you run the script, more songs will be added to the playlist. The 50 limit is for searching for songs- So if the song already exists in your playlist or in your library it does not count towards the limit.
  • Grooveshark limits the amount of searches that can be done from this site, so if you (or another user) are importing alot of songs not already in your grooveshark library then you may get an error that: 'Rate limit exceeded'. Try again in an hour.
  • Upload your music library before hand into grooveshark (upload.grooveshark.com) to make sure your songs are in the grooveshark music database with the correct artist and title spelling so that your playlist has every song on it. This also helps you by-pass the '50 search limit' and the 'Rate limit exceeded' error message.
