Chinese Military Expected to Ramp Up AI Integration Following US Developments

In particular, it seems likely that the Chinese military has not integrated AI at this level of combat operations, simply in virtue of not recently or currently waging a war -- but of course *now* they're going to do it, after seeing how much the US military is using Claude.

Thanks @AnthropicAI for speeding up this particular AI arms race.

I don't think I understand It seems like cat is put of the bag from my PoV...? US has v visibly escalated AI integration into the military, China and other powers will respond. Less certain whether China was behind but I think more likely than not.

Are the base models relevant? PLA seems to be using DeepSeek for non-combat support, and maybe experimenting w combat support in simulation

Hahaha yeah wow, Chinese political scientist + commentator Zheng Yongnian now literally calling for China to catch up with US levels of AI military integration 🙃

I really think @DarioAmodei + whoever woefully miscalculated here -- likely agreed to the Palantir+DoD deals to ensure US military AI *quietly* stays ahead of Chinese military AI, failed to anticipate how publicly & violently US would use it, now Chinese military AI accelerates.

Funny (sad) to me that years ago @GovAIOrg were writing math and game theory papers about stuff like this happening, and now it's actually happening 🥲
